Hungarian PM Orbán says Trump is 'very angry' over attacks on Druzhba oil pipeline

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán boasted about receiving a response from US President Donald Trump to his complaint letter. In it, Trump allegedly called Orbán his "great friend" and said he was "very angry" over attacks on the Druzhba oil pipeline, according to Telex and the pro-government Hungarian outlet Magyar Nemzet.
In his letter, the Hungarian leader complained that attacks on the Druzhba pipeline, similar to those on Nord Stream in the past, posed a threat to Hungary’s energy security and asked for assistance from the US President.
A post about the letter appeared in the closed online initiative Fight Club, which mobilizes digital activists in support of the Fidesz party. The project operates by invitation and seeks to counter opposition presence on social media.
"I do not like hearing this. I am very angry about it. Tell Slovakia. You are my great friend," Trump allegedly wrote with a marker on Orbán’s letter as a reply.
Hungary and Slovakia complain over attacks on Druzhba pipeline
Earlier, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár and his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó complained to the European Commission about Ukrainian strikes on the Druzhba oil pumping station, which transports Russian crude to Hungary and Slovakia.
The first attack on Druzhba took place on August 13. On August 18, Ukrainian forces carried out a second strike on the Nikolskoye pumping station in Russia’s Tambov region, causing a fire and a complete halt of oil flow through the pipeline.
In addition, drones hit the Unecha station, suspending oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia. At the time, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó threatened to stop electricity exports to Ukraine.
On August 22, Szijjártó said the Druzhba pipeline had come under attack for the third time in a short period, and crude oil deliveries to Hungary had once again been halted.
