Can you eat an avocado with dark flesh

Cut fruits spoil much faster. First and foremost, the appearance of the flesh on the cut half suffers. It becomes dark and brown, and the taste also changes a bit.

As it turns out, you can still eat such fruits. But next time, try preserving the avocado to prevent it from becoming bitter and dark. It's very simple.

Chef Tracy Weintraub explained that avocado turns brown when its flesh comes into contact with oxygen. When the fruit is not protected from the air, a chemical reaction occurs. Avocado produces melanin.

To prevent oxidation and browning, try coating the avocado with olive oil. According to the chef, this creates an "oily barrier" that will protect the flesh from browning.

Moreover, the half avocado should be stored in an airtight container. Then you can put it in the refrigerator and not worry that it will spoil.

Thanks to this olive oil and container hack, the avocado can stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to four days. The expert also explained whether it is necessary to remove the pit from the avocado. As it turns out, this does not affect the fruit's shelf life.
