Iran may be receiving assistance from Russia to carry out strikes against US forces and their allies in the Middle East. It includes intelligence data and tactical support, reports Bloomberg.
Representatives of the US and Western intelligence told the agency that Russia is providing Iran with satellite imagery and information that allows it to use drones more effectively during attacks.
The exact scale and regularity of such assistance remain unknown.
Putin’s 'hidden hand'
According to UK Defense Secretary John Healey, elements similar to those Russia uses in the war against Ukraine can be seen in the tactics of Iranian strikes.
“No one will be surprised to believe that Putin’s hidden hand is behind some of the Iranian tactics and potentially some of their capabilities as well,” he stressed.
According to Healey, the patterns of Iranian attacks resemble Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
Russia helps Iran
Russia may have passed to Tehran tactics for using strike drones that the Russian military uses during the war against Ukraine.
It includes the experience of using Shahed drones, which, according to Western intelligence officers, were able to unexpectedly and effectively overcome the air defense systems of Persian Gulf countries.
Western media reports that Russia is passing to Iran information about the location of US military facilities. Thanks to this, Iranian forces were able to carry out precise strikes on US military facilities, including command systems, radars, and temporary military structures.
