Russia is secretly providing Iran with intelligence data that helps it attack US forces in the Middle East, according to The Washington Post.

The agency's interlocutors said that Russia is passing on information about the location of US military facilities, including military ships and aircraft.

It is not yet clear how extensive Russia's assistance to Iran in targeting is. At the same time, Iran's own capabilities to detect US forces, according to officials, have been partially weakened in less than a week of hostilities.

According to analysts, the transfer of intelligence data from Russia may explain the accuracy of Iranian strikes on US facilities, including command and control systems, radars, and temporary military structures. Recently, a strike was also carried out on the CIA residency at the US Embassy in Riyadh.

Russia's satellite images

Dara Massicot, an expert on Russia's army, explains that Iran is very accurate in striking early warning radars and long-range radar detection systems. At the same time, Tehran does not have its own satellite network, so satellite images from Russia are extremely valuable to it.

Nicole Grajewski, a researcher at Harvard University, notes that Iran's retaliatory strikes demonstrate a high level of technological sophistication. This applies both to the selection of targets and the ability to overload American and allied air defense systems in some areas.

She notes that Iranian missiles and drones are increasingly breaking through air defense systems, and the quality of the attacks exceeds the level seen during last year's 12-day war with Israel.

Israeli and US operation against Iran

On February 28, Israel and the United States launched powerful strikes against Iran, resulting in the elimination of Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

In response, the Iranian army began attacking both Israel and the territories of many Middle Eastern countries. In particular, American military bases and consulates were under attack.

On Thursday, March 5, Israel announced that it was moving to the next stage of the war against Iran. In particular, the Israeli army will intensify air strikes on underground bunkers where Tehran hides ballistic missiles.
