Police were present at the march to maintain order.
Simultaneously, there was a movement of activists for traditional values. To prevent clashes, the police blocked them.
Overall, the event was peaceful and without provocations.
Additionally, the city authorities had urged Kyiv residents beforehand to show their support and tolerance.
Controversy surrounding KyivPride 2024
It is worth noting that the Equality March was initially supposed to take place in the Kyiv metro.
However, the Kyiv City Military Administration said they had not approved holding the event at this location. The organizers were asked to choose another venue.
Activists believe that they were not permitted to hold the event due to fake news circulating online.
In particular, there were reports about the metro being shut down and alleged funding of the organization by the Kyiv City Military Administration.
