High-level meeting on peace in Ukraine is possible - EU's High Representative stated
At the end of September, another meeting to discuss achieving peace in Ukraine may take place, possibly during the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly, El Mundo reported.
This new meeting is expected to occur in early August after the summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
According to the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, the summit in Jeddah was "another step for Ukraine to exert pressure on the international community to make Russia stop the war."
"Only Russia can stop this, Russia started it, and Russia has to finish it," he said at a press conference in Santander, Spain.
He emphasized that the EU will continue to support Ukraine.
Summit in Saudi Arabia
On August 5-6, a summit was held in Saudi Arabia, with the central theme being the Ukrainian peace formula. Representatives from over 40 countries were invited to the summit, including India, Brazil, Indonesia, Egypt, Mexico, and China.
Andriy Yermak, a Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated after the summit that while some representatives had differing views, all countries demonstrated commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, international law, and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
