Ukrainian priest and blogger Oleksii Filiuk, quite popular in his native Ternopil region, has unexpectedly become an archaeologist. While working in his yard, he found an old jug containing jewelry and coins over 150 years old, as he shared on Facebook.

According to Father Oleksii Filiuk, he bought an old house in the village of Shushkivtsi, which was located next door. The house is intended for one of his sons, and the priest is now clearing the yard and doing renovations. He actively posts videos about tidying up the old house and shared that he found a vintage jug.

"Today, I found a jug with some rusty and oxidized coins under the roots of an old pear tree. Those who say there is no God are unhappy people," said Father Oleksii.

He added that an old pear tree was growing where the jug was found; now, it is just a stump. After uprooting it, they discovered the jug in the ground.

"Many of you even wrote to me: Father Oleksii, have a look, maybe there are some coins around. And I found a whole pot of them. One of the coins is marked with the year 1844," the priest added.
