Hezbollah attacks Israel with dozens of missiles, casualties reported
Hezbollah terrorists launched dozens of missiles at Israeli territory. The attack resulted in casualties among the civilian population, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
Sirens in the city of Safed and surrounding areas sounded around 1:40 a.m. (Israel time) after approximately 50 missiles were launched from Lebanon.
The military intercepted numerous missiles and other targets that fell in the area.
The municipality of Safed noted that one of the rockets fired by Hezbollah struck a courtyard of a house in the northern part of the city, causing minor damage.
Two individuals sustained light injuries while moving to a bomb shelter and were taken to the hospital.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the shelling.
Escalation of the situation in the Middle East
The Israeli army and Hezbollah militants continue to exchange fire. Meanwhile, the IDF continue a ground operation in southern Lebanon, seeking to push the terrorists further from the border with Israel.
Recently, Hezbollah militants attacked Israel with drones. The mass shelling resulted in injuries to dozens of people.
The Israeli government called on the United Nations to withdraw peacekeepers from southern Lebanon, stating that Hezbollah uses them as human shields.
In the meantime, the United States demands that Israel improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, warning that Washington will restrict military aid otherwise.
Tel Aviv is prepared to discuss the potential sanctions announced by the United States.
