Head of Pentagon opens Ramstein-19
Head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, today, February 14, officially opened the meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine, according to the US Ministry of Defense.
"We'll work together today on Ukraine's near-term requirements," he said in his online speech to the participants of the meeting.
It is about urgent problems in more artillery, ammunition and missiles for air defense.
Ramstein meeting
On February 12, the media reported that Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin canceled his visit to Brussels due to urgent hospitalization.
As part of his visit, he was to personally chair a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in Brussels. The 70-year-old head of the Pentagon was hospitalized for bladder problems.
Later it became known that Austin plans to take part in the meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine (Ramstein format), despite the urgent hospitalization. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Brown and Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security at the Pentagon Celeste Wallander will also participate in Ramstein from the American side.
We wrote that at the meeting there will be a coalition report on the transfer of F-16s to the Ukrainian military.
