Harris raises $100 million after entering presidential race
US Vice President Kamala Harris has already raised $100 million since entering the presidential race, ABC News reports.
According to representatives of Harris' presidential campaign, the amount was raised between Sunday afternoon and Monday evening.
The money was raised by the Democratic National Committee and its joint fundraising committees, the campaign said in a statement.
About 58 thousand people have also signed up to participate in the vice presidential campaign as volunteers, which is more than 100 times the average daily registration figure.
US presidential election
On July 21, US President Joe Biden announced that he withdrew from the presidential race. He supported Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate.
According to the US media, Biden was persuaded to withdraw his candidacy from the election by his closest aides, who showed him the campaign's polls. They showed that Biden's chances of winning in November were slim.
In turn, the Associated Press reported that Harris had won enough delegate votes to become the Democratic presidential candidate.
The US presidential election will be held on November 5.
