A large number of countries are trying to help US President Donald Trump end Russia's war against Ukraine. This must be done on fair terms, states US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, according to Fox News.

Waltz was asked to comment on a Reuters report citing Russian sources, which claimed that Moscow is considering the UAE and Saudi Arabia as potential venues for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

Trump’s advisor stated that he could neither confirm nor deny the information. He also advised being "very careful" when listening to reports from unnamed Russian sources.

Waltz reminded that the US president has clearly expressed his desire to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

"What’s amazing is half the world is reaching out trying to help President Trump close this war down and end this war in a just way that prevents future wars. And so, we've been getting all kinds of outreach, but I have nothing to confirm or to break today," he added.

Trump announced progress in war resolution

On February 3, US President Donald Trump officially appointed Keith Kellogg as Special envoy for Ukraine and Russia.

Trump also emphasized that the US has made significant progress in resolving the war. However, the American president did not elaborate on the specifics.

Additionally, Trump expressed interest in Ukraine's rare earth metals and suggested the possibility of a resource exchange for aid from the US.
