Grateful for military aid, but domestic production is crucial: Zelenskyy states

Ukraine is grateful to its allies for military assistance, but domestic arms production is the cornerstone of our country, according to the evening address of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of the state mentions that during today's Staff meeting supplying Ukrainian soldiers with weapons of Ukrainian production was discussed.
"We are grateful to every leader, every country that helps us with weapons, equipment, and ammunition. And we are doing everything to increase the supplies... But it is evident that the country's fundamental course is our own production, our own weapons, equipment, our own ammunition for all positions needed for the defense forces," emphasized Zelenskyy.
He clarifies that this includes the production of "everything - from missiles and drones to armored vehicles and ammunition of the required calibers."
Production of weaponry in Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has been actively producing weaponry, including ammunition and drones.
As the Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin, pointed out, from January to July of that year, Ukraine had produced ten times more ammunition than in all of 2022.
Furthermore, last month, the Cabinet of Ministers proposed redirecting the military tax for financing the production of Ukrainian weapons.
