Google accidentally unveils new Android interface before official launch

Google accidentally revealed details of the upcoming large-scale Android redesign called Material 3 Expressive. Information about this appeared in the company’s blog but was soon deleted, according to the American computer technology website The Verge.
As reported, this is the most thoroughly researched update in the history of Android's visual style. Google claims to have conducted 46 rounds of testing involving over 18,000 people. The new design aims to make the interface simultaneously more appealing and intuitive.
In Material 3 Expressive, special attention is paid to such parameters as color, shape, size, and animation — all of which should improve usability according to the company. For example, test users found the necessary interface elements four times faster than in the current version of Material 3.

Interestingly, the improvements affected all age groups: people over 45 coped with tasks no worse than young people.
During testing, Google also studied exactly where users look on the screen, how they perceive visual changes, and which elements simplify interaction. Separate analyses were carried out on details such as the shape and speed of loading indicators, as well as optimal button sizes.
Material 3 Expressive will receive a dedicated presentation at the Google I/O conference, which will take place later this month. According to rumors, the company is also preparing updates for the entire Android user interface, including new status bar icons, a redesigned font for the clock and quick settings, and changes in the Google Clock app.
