Germany is providing Ukraine with additional winter aid for €40 million in response to ongoing Russian attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure, according to German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.

"We are helping to ensure that homes remain warm and well-lit, and that Russia, with its targeted terrorist attacks on civilian gas and heat supplies, does not succeed in breaking the morale of those defending their homeland," the German Foreign Minister emphasizes.

The funds will be used for humanitarian needs, including the repair of heating systems and damaged houses, as well as the delivery of generators, blankets, and hygiene products.

At the end of October, the German government announced a contribution of €60 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which provides generators, energy equipment, and mobile thermal power plants.

German aid to Ukraine

Germany had previously announced an increase in financial aid to Ukraine of around €3 billion in 2026.

On November 2, Ukraine received new Patriot air defense systems from Germany.

Before this, Berlin had announced its intention to transfer two systems from Bundeswehr warehouses in early August 2025. The delivery was made with financial support from Denmark, Lithuania, and Norway.

Germany has allocated a new aid package of €60 million to Ukraine. It will be used to restore Ukraine's damaged energy sector.

This money will speed up the delivery of generators, energy equipment, and mobile thermal power plants.
