Germany’s Foreign Minister cautions China against supplying drones to Russia
Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, during her visit to China, warned Beijing of the consequences if it supports Russia with drones, according to Tagesschau.
She stated in Beijing that supplying drones to Russia would mark a "new dimension" of the conflict. This remark followed her meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Baerbock also urged China to actively participate in ending the war, stressing the importance of a fair peace process. She emphasized that while Germany and China have different views on the situation, peace can be achieved through joint efforts.
Baerbock’s visit to China
At the end of November, media reports indicated that German Foreign Minister Baerbock would soon visit China. In Berlin, it was noted that one of the main topics of discussion would be the war in Ukraine.
On December 2, during her visit, Baerbock stated that the trip was related to the initiation of a peace process in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made an unannounced visit to Kyiv.
