The German Ministry of Defense has announced further large-scale support for Ukraine. The Bundestag has approved an additional €400 million for 2024, allowing the implementation of 50 projects with a total value of €1.4 billion, according to Major General Christian Freuding, head of the Bundeswehr's Situation Center Ukraine at the German Ministry of Defense.

"Just now, the German parliament allocated an additional €400 million solely for 2024, which will enable us to implement a total of 50 projects this year, amounting to €1.4 billion," he said.

Freuding emphasized the supply of air defense systems, tanks, and artillery ammunition. He also highlighted improvements in the ammunition situation.

According to him, Russia's artillery advantage has decreased from 8:1 in the spring to 3:1 at present.

Germany's aid to Ukraine

In August, the German FAS reported that under the direction of Chancellor Olaf Scholz, new funding requests for aid to Ukraine would not be approved. For 2024, about €8 billion has already been allocated for military support to Ukraine, and the €4 billion budget for 2025 has been fully distributed.

In September, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius expressed hope that the government would find additional resources to continue arms supplies to Ukraine in 2024.

On September 19, Germany allocated a new military aid package to Ukraine, which included various weapons and equipment.
