The German army has ordered more than 2,000 all-wheel-drive military trucks from Rheinmetall in a deal worth around €1 billion, the company said.
It is noted that the Bundeswehr has ordered the delivery of more than 2,000 military transport vehicles from Rheinmetall. These are unprotected logistics vehicles in 4x4 (3.5-ton), 6x6 (5-ton), and 8x8 (15-ton) configurations.
The contract is worth €1.015 billion. The large order is part of a framework agreement signed in 2024 for up to 6,500 vehicles in total and will be finalized in the second quarter of 2026.

Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH (RMMV) will begin delivering the vehicles in the first half of 2026. The vast majority of the vehicles are to be delivered by the end of 2026. The order includes approximately 1,000 vehicles in the 8x8 configuration and around 1,000 vehicles in the 4x4 and 6x6 configurations.

"Thanks to the extensive standardization of the HX vehicle family, the German army benefits from significant synergies in training, operation, and maintenance. Our vehicles are used around the world and have proven their reliability in the harshest climatic conditions," said Christoph Müller, CEO and Chairman of the Board of RMMV.

The company emphasizes that the truck range was specifically developed to meet military requirements and is characterized by exceptional off-road capability and durability.
Rheinmetall previously stated that it highly values the level of Ukrainian developments and emphasized its admiration for the country's innovations.
This came amid controversy that arose earlier after the company's chief executive officer, commenting on drone production, compared the process to playing with Lego.
