Germany invests in STRILA drones to boost Ukraine's air defenses

Sven Kruck, CEO of Quantum Systems, announced that the German company is investing in the Ukrainian drone manufacturer WIY Drones to expand production of STRILA anti-aircraft drones for the Ukrainian National Guard, according to Defender Media.
Scaling up drone production
The German company Quantum Systems has announced an investment in the Ukrainian firm WIY Drones.
The amount of the deal and the details of the contract have not been disclosed, but it is known that Germany will fund the production of 15,000 STRILA interceptor drones for the needs of the Ukrainian National Guard.
WIY Drones specializes in the development of interceptor drones, reconnaissance and strike drones, as well as ground control stations and related systems.
STRILA is the company’s flagship anti-aircraft drone, designed to engage aerial targets, including Shahed-type drones.
STRILA technical specifications
The drone’s maximum speed reaches 350 km/h, and its maximum flight altitude is 5,000 meters. The tactical radius is 14 km, and the maximum range with a payload is 28 km. The payload capacity is up to 500 grams, and the flight time with a payload is up to 10 minutes.
Investment objectives
Quantum Systems’ investment is aimed at scaling up STRILA production in Ukraine to meet current operational demand.
At the same time, the company plans to export surplus units.
The company promises to publish additional information about the joint development and production of interceptor drones in the near future.
Management comment
Quantum Systems Co-CEO Sven Kruck notes that Ukrainian engineers have created some of the world’s most effective anti-drone technologies.
"Quantum Systems brings these solutions to industrial scale and helps Ukraine close its sky," he emphasizes.
Illia Samoshkin, director of the Ukrainian company Pegasus Arms, announced the start of a partnership with the German company Rohde & Schwarz, under which the two companies plan to develop new technologies for aerial reconnaissance and electronic countermeasures against unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Ukrainian company ROBONEERS presented an upgraded version of the Saber K-2 remotely controlled combat module with a turret equipped with a twin mount of two AK-74 assault rifles, which increases firepower and the system’s effectiveness in close combat.
