Germany says there are "very positive signs" from the United States regarding Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine. This concerns the sale of these air defense systems, according to a spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry.

"Discussions are now being held on the modalities of implementation, i.e., how many systems there will be, who will take them over, and how they will be financed," said the Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

It is worth noting that today, July 14, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius traveled to Washington on an official visit. In the U.S., he is scheduled to meet with Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth.

As previously reported, an important topic of their talks will be organizing further support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

Patriots for Ukraine

Negotiations are ongoing for the sale of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is ready to purchase these systems and missiles from the United States. However, US President Donald Trump had delayed this decision.

Recently, progress has been observed on this issue. Trump stated that the US will send Patriots to Ukraine, but Europe will cover the cost.

Additionally, it is expected that today, July 14, the US president will announce a new step regarding weapons supplies to Ukraine.

According to Axios, Trump will unveil an "aggressive" plan to supply weapons to Ukraine, possibly including missiles capable of reaching Moscow.
