Germany has currently exhausted its capacity to supply Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said this, according to Focus Online.
According to the minister, Berlin has already supplied Ukraine with several Patriot air defense systems and missiles. However, Pistorius currently rules out the possibility of further deliveries.
"Anything we provide now will not be replaced for the time being. This would create gaps in our defense capabilities that we cannot take responsibility for... We cannot do more at this stage," the German defense minister stressed.
He also noted that other countries must now become more actively involved in strengthening Ukraine's defenses against Russian attacks.
Pistorius said this issue would be one of the key items on the agenda of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting, scheduled for mid-November.
The German minister believes that despite Russian airstrikes during the winter, Moscow will not be able to turn the tide of the war in its favor.
He pointed out that Russian troops are making virtually no progress on the battlefield. Moreover, the Russian army continues to suffer enormous personnel losses.
"On the front line, the Russian armed forces are making no progress. The losses are enormous — between 30,000 and 40,000 soldiers per month," Pistorius recalled.
Earlier, Pistorius made an unexpected statement about Taurus missiles for Ukraine.
Germany is also preparing for war with Russia and changing its military strategy.
