German Chancellor Scholz rejects Trump's claim about Zelenskyy

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz dismissed US President Donald Trump’s claim that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a "dictator," calling the statement "wrong and dangerous," according to Spiegel.
"It is simply incorrect and dangerous to question the democratic legitimacy of President Zelenskyy. It is true: Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the elected head of state of Ukraine," Scholz stated.
He emphasized that the inability to hold scheduled elections during wartime is in full compliance with Ukraine’s Constitution and electoral laws.
"No one should claim otherwise," Scholz added.
The Chancellor also reminded that it was Russia, under President Vladimir Putin, that launched the war against Ukraine.
"Ukraine has been defending itself against relentless Russian aggression for almost three years, day after day," he said.
Reaction of the Prime Minister of Norway
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre also responded to Trump’s remarks, calling them deeply unfounded.
"I believe this statement is deeply unfounded. Zelenskyy is a popularly elected president with an overwhelming majority, and a full-scale war broke out in the middle of his term," Støre said.
What Trump said about Zelenskyy
In recent days, US President Donald Trump has made sharp and provocative statements, often echoing Russian propaganda narratives.
For example, Trump called President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “dictator without elections” and claimed that his support among Ukrainians is allegedly just 4%. However, the latest polling shows that 57% of Ukrainians trust Zelenskyy.
