Georgian opposition rejects election results
In Georgia, two parties have declared they do not recognize the parliamentary election results, according to Ekho Kavkaza.
The party of former President Mikheil Saakashvili, the United National Movement, does not accept the results of the parliamentary election, party leader Tina Bokuchava stated.
According to its leader, Nika Gvaramia, the Coalition for Change also refuses to recognize the results. He accuses the ruling party, Georgian Dream, of carrying out a constitutional coup.
Today, October 26, Georgia is holding a parliamentary election in which the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party will compete against pro-European opposition parties.
Polling stations have now closed across Georgia. Exit polls give opposite results.
Preliminary data indicates voter turnout at around 60%. With 68.69% of ballots counted, Georgian Dream leads with 52.94% of the vote.
