"I was asked to share what we Ukrainians mean to the world today. We, who have survived the bloodiest war of the 21st century. We fight and hold the line on our own against the most brutal enemy since fascism. An enemy that has for decades fostered hatred toward us in millions of its citizens, through propaganda rivaled only by a modern-day Goebbels. And so I told them. About the power of unity and the key lessons we have learned over these extremely difficult years," the former Commander-in-Chief wrote in his post.

In his column for Vogue, Zaluzhnyi also shared key insights from the Russian-Ukrainian war.
"Those who do not fight for life always have their interest. And this: weapons that bring no benefit are never used. I won't say what kind of weapon this is. When fighting a bigger enemy alone, think about which victory you want and can achieve now, and which one in the future. Every decision has its time. It's not always now," he noted.
Zaluzhnyi emphasized that in wartime, friends and allies don't always share the same views.
He also stated that a neighbor who offers help in difficult times is ultimately helping themselves, but if they refuse to help, "they become part of your problem."Valerii Zaluzhnyi (photo: instagram.com/vogue_ukraine)
"You need to be on good terms with your neighbors. And you must know how to defend yourself from those who don't want to be friendly," the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK added.
According to Zaluzhnyi, "the most valuable resource in war is people." The reason lies not only in how hard they are to replace but also in the risk of losing them mentally, rendering them unfit.
He stressed that the enemy's strength is often exaggerated by its leaders and propaganda.
The true measure of strength, even in modern high-tech warfare, remains "the spirit that drives the body to fight." And in war, there are no miracles.
