In the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, the sale of fuel at gas stations has been restricted — the queue for gasoline now begins even before reaching the station, states the Russian-appointed governor of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky.

What happened

At gas stations in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, a limit has been introduced on the sale of fuel per person. The official reason is delivery problems due to the operational situation.

"Due to the current operational situation, temporary difficulties have arisen with the delivery of fuel to gas stations in our region. Today, temporary restrictions have been introduced at gas stations on the sale of fuel per person," Balitsky stated.

He did not specify exactly how many litres can be purchased at one time.

According to Balitsky, the measure is preventive — to prevent artificial shortages and panic among the population. The restriction will remain in place until the supply situation is fully stabilised.

The Zaporizhzhia region is not the first. On May 22, similar restrictions appeared in occupied Sevastopol: there, no more than 20 litres per vehicle were allowed, queues formed at gas stations, and the price of gasoline exceeded 100 rubles per litre.

As RBC-Ukraine reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that strikes on Russian oil refineries have already cost Russia 10% of its capacity — and this is having a tangible impact on its revenues and fuel supply.
