According to reports, Mikalai Statkevich (one of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition) and Maksim Vinyarski (an activist of European Belarus) refuse to leave Belarus by force and go to Lithuania.

Also, according to the media, along with them at the border zone between the states remained philosopher Uladzimir Matskevich and trade union activist Henadz Fiadynich. They also refuse to leave Belarus.

Lukashenko released more than 50 political prisoners

Today, September 11, the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda announced that the Belarusian regime led by Alexander Lukashenko had decided to release 52 political prisoners at once. All of them have already crossed the border and are in Lithuania.

According to the president, among those released were six citizens of Lithuania.

Nausėda emphasized that it was precisely the assistance of US President Donald Trump that played a key role in the release of the people.

At the same time, the Lithuanian leader stressed that this is only the first step, since more than a thousand people remain in Belarusian prisons for political reasons.

The day before, it became known that the special representative of the US president, John Cole, arrived in Belarus for a meeting with Lukashenko.
