France showcased operation of EFA ferries, planned for transfer to Ukraine
France will provide Ukraine with self-propelled ferries EFA from the CEFA company. These ferries can be deployed in five minutes, according to Special Envoy of the President of France for Ukraine's Relief and Reconstruction Pierre Heilbronn.
The rapid deployment capability of the ferries makes them an effective tool for transferring troops and equipment across rivers and other bodies of water.
The special envoy reported that he had checked their incredible efficiency, citing the example that they unfolded in less than 5 minutes. Additionally, it was mentioned that CEFA had won a contract for the supply of 16 units.

EFA ferries
Self-propelled ferries, developed by the French company CEFA, are designed for transporting personnel and equipment across rivers and other bodies of water.
The water speed of the CEFA ferries reaches a maximum of 12 km/h, while on the road, they can achieve speeds of up to 75 km/h.
EFA ferries are capable of transporting either one main battle tank, two medium tanks, or four light infantry fighting vehicles. They can also be utilized for transporting various other types of equipment, including trucks, armored personnel carriers, and artillery.
EFA ferries are already in use by the armed forces of France, Belgium, and other countries. In 2023, France provided Ukraine with a shipment of these ferries as part of military assistance.
Aid from France to Ukraine
From the early days of Russia's war against Ukraine, France emerged as one of the most active European allies, providing substantial financial and military assistance.
Interestingly, France has also adjusted its tactics in supplying weapons to Ukraine.
In addition, it has been reported that Ukrainian pilots will commence training in France in 2024 as part of military aid.
Furthermore, there are indications of an increasing collaboration between Ukraine and France in the field of air defense.
