France is concerned about the possible role of billionaire Elon Musk in the future administration of Donald Trump. Paris reminded of the importance of democracy, according to French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.

“Let's hope he doesn't do to American democracy what he did to Twitter. Democracy is a fragile treasure,” Barrot said, commenting on the possible appointment of Musk to the Trump administration.

At the same time, the French Foreign Minister emphasized that the partners would not agree that public debate would move to deregulated social networks that were “in the hands of special interest groups, whether American or Chinese.”

The minister also called for not “repeating the fate of American democrats” and returning to “the origins of democracy: power and responsibility for citizens.”

Musk may get job with Trump

American billionaire Elon Musk was one of the most prominent supporters of Republican Donald Trump's re-election campaign. He donated large sums of money to Trump's campaign and participated in rallies.

Earlier, it was reported that Elon Musk could get a position in the future administration of Donald Trump. The billionaire said that he would demand a reduction in the number of federal agencies in the United States if Trump gave him the position.

According to Axios, Elon Musk was present during Donald Trump's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
