Four Ukrainian guardsmen destroy Russian column near Robotyne
Four soldiers of the Spartan brigade of the Offensive Guard stopped an assault column near Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia direction, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
"The soldiers engaged in a battle against three armored personnel carriers with infantry on the armor. The first armored personnel carrier exploded on a prepared mine, and the second was shot down by the guardsmen with a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher," the message says.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the third unit of the Russian occupiers' vehicles managed to land the infantry, which resulted in a small arms battle.
"Despite being wounded, the guys did not retreat and came out of the battle victorious, having received the necessary medical care. The brigade's fire support finished off the remnants of the Russian occupiers," the statement says.
Fighting for Robotyne
The 47th and 82nd Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the village of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region on August 23, 2023.
According to CNN, in February 2024, the Russian army concentrated about 50,000 of its soldiers in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote in its report that the Russians continue to assault the area of Robotyne. At the same time, Russian propagandists claimed that their troops had allegedly approached the outskirts of the village.
Russian ground forces continued and most likely intensified their offensive towards the village of Robotyne, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces recaptured during a counteroffensive in the summer of 2023. Since then, the village has remained on the front line.
