CNN reports mass concentration of Russian soldiers in Zaporizhzhia direction: Ukrainian military insight
Russian occupiers allegedly have concentrated around 50,000 soldiers in the Zaporizhzhia direction. However, they do not pose as great a threat as in Avdiivka, according to CNN and a statement by Dmytro Lykhoviy, spokesman for the Tavria operational-strategic group.
What CNN wrote
Yesterday, on February 19, CNN reported, citing unnamed Russian and Ukrainian sources, that occupiers were rapidly increasing their presence in southern Ukraine. This concerns the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Journalists specified that on that stretch, the enemy had already amassed a 50,000-strong grouping of their soldiers.
Lykhoviy's reaction
Dmytro Lykhoviy, spokesperson for the Tavria operational-strategic group, has already responded to this information from the media.
"These tens of thousands of people from the occupying army do not exert as much pressure as in Avdiivka because there are different circumstances and conditions. The Zaporizhzhia direction has significant length, and the enemy distributes all this quantity along the line of their fortifications," he says.
Moreover, according to Lykhoviy, if the Russians decide to withdraw their forces from the flanks, Ukrainian defenders may take advantage of this and advance there.
Situation in the Robotyne area
Previously, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote in its report that Russians continue to storm the area around Robotyne.
At the same time, Russian propagandists claimed that the occupiers had allegedly approached the outskirts of the village.
