Ford, Volvo, and Nissan recall over 45,000 vehicles due to defects

Ford, Volvo, and Nissan have announced the recall of over 45,000 vehicles due to safety defects, reports USA Today.
Repair issues: Ford recalls Escape, Bronco Sport, and Explorer
Ford is recalling certain 2020–2022 Escape and 2021–2023 Bronco Sport vehicles that may have been improperly repaired during a previous recall.
The problem involves a fuel injector that may crack and leak fuel inside the engine compartment. Additionally, these vehicles do not contain the updated Powertrain Control Module software, as stated in the recall report. Dealers will update the software for free, and owner notification letters will be sent on April 24.
Separately, Ford is also recalling 2020–2022 Explorer models that were previously improperly repaired. The defect may cause the rear axle horizontal mounting bolt to fracture, leading to the driveshaft disconnecting. The software update and repairs will be performed free of charge.
Affected vehicles: 37,823
Risk of short circuit: Volvo recalls hybrid models
Volvo is recalling hybrid vehicles with high-voltage batteries that may experience a short circuit when fully charged and parked.
The affected models include:
- S90 (2020–2021)
- S60 (2020–2022)
- V60 (2020–2022)
- XC60 (2020–2022)
- XC90 (2020–2022)
- V90 (2022)
Owners are advised not to charge their vehicles until the repair is completed. Dealers will inspect and replace the battery module and update the software to monitor the battery free of charge. Notification letters will be mailed on May 15.

Insufficient strength: Nissan and INFINITI recall vehicles
Nissan North America is recalling some Nissan and INFINITI vehicles due to the potential insufficient strength of the front brake caliper assemblies.
The affected models include:
- 2025 Nissan Murano
- 2025 Nissan Pathfinder
- 2025 INFINITI QX60
Dealers will inspect and replace the brake calipers as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters will be sent on May 9.

Issues with Tesla electric vehicles
By the way, Tesla also recently announced a recall of most Cybertruck models in the US due to a defect in the exterior panel, which may detach while driving. The recall affects over 46,000 vehicles manufactured between November 2023 and February 27, 2024. Despite numerous warranty claims related to the issue, Tesla assured that no crashes or injuries have been reported so far.
