Since the beginning of August, 1,350 children have been evacuated from settlements in the Donetsk region, where families with children are subject to mandatory evacuation. However, 2,424 children remain in unsafe living conditions, according to Yulia Ryzhakova, head of the Children’s Services of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

Currently, 225,000 residents remain in the territory of the Donetsk region controlled by Ukraine, of whom 17,168 are children.

Over the three weeks of August, 1,350 children were evacuated from areas unsafe for habitation.

Forced evacuation of families with children continues in 16 settlements across six communities in the Donetsk region. A total of 2,424 children remain living there.

The largest number is in the Druzhkivka community – 1,764 children.

Another 456 children remain in the Bilozerka community, 150 in Dobropillia, 49 in Lyman, three in Andriivka, and two in Kryvorizhzhia.

As RBC-Ukraine reported, on August 13 and 14, the list of settlements subject to mandatory evacuation in the Donetsk region was expanded. The new list included Andriivka, Varvarivka, Novoandriivka, and Rohanske in the Andriivka community, as well as 14 more settlements in the Bilozerka and Dobropillia communities where living conditions are considered dangerous.

Administrative units, law enforcement agencies, and local authorities have been instructed to evacuate children and their relatives as quickly as possible and to ensure proper living conditions for those evacuated.

Earlier, at the beginning of August, the mandatory evacuation zone in the Donetsk region was also expanded to include 19 additional settlements.
