Flooding in northern Italy forces evacuation of about 1,000, several missing
Storm Boris, which has swept through Central and Eastern Europe since last week, has hit northern Italy, causing severe flooding and landslides. Two people are considered missing, and around 1,000 have been evacuated from their homes, according to The Guardian.
In the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, around 1,000 people have been forced to leave their homes, schools have been closed, and train services have been suspended.
Two individuals are considered missing in Traverse, a village in the province of Ravenna, after the Lamone River overflowed.
In Lugo, a town with a population of about 30,000 west of Ravenna, authorities ordered the evacuation of the ground floors of all residences after the local Senio River flooded.
The national fire service has conducted over 500 rescue operations in the region, including using helicopters to lift people from inundated homes.

Recently, Storm Boris swept through Central and Eastern Europe, bringing heavy rains and floods. The death toll from the severe weather in Europe has already surpassed 20 and continues to rise. New casualties have been reported in Czechia, Poland, and Austria, while entire villages in eastern Romania have been submerged.
