First smartphone without social networks: What is known about Light Phone III

Light, the developer of a minimalist phone designed to help users escape from smartphone distractions and social media, will release its new Light Phone III on March 27, reports TechCrunch.
Like the previous version of the device, the new phone offers a simple black-and-white display and basic functions, including calls, SMS, navigation, alarm clock, hotspot, calendar, music, and other essential tools. However, the gadget is now equipped with a 3.92-inch AMOLED display, which has replaced the e-paper screen.
What's new in the smartphone
- Added a camera and NFC chip for future payment functions
- Improved maintainability - now you can replace the battery, screen, and USB port
- Smaller and more convenient - the width is now comparable to most iPhones.
"It will retain many of the characteristics that users love about an e-ink display, while still feeling different than glossy smartphone screens," Light co-founder Joe Hollier explained last year.
As before, users will be able to choose whether to use the Light Phone III as their primary phone or as an additional gadget for when they want to disconnect from digital noise but not lose access to important tools.
