At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, HMD presented the HMD Fusion X1, the first smartphone from a new line aimed at family use, reports Gizmochina.
Specifications of the HMD Fusion X1 smartphone
The HMD Fusion X1 is the first smartphone in a new line of smartphones aimed at family use. Developed in collaboration with Xplora, it provides parents with enhanced capabilities to monitor and regulate their child's smartphone usage.
The device is powered by an Xplora subscription (starting at €4.99 per month), offering features such as real-time location tracking with updates every 20 seconds, remote control, emergency SOS, and low battery notifications.
The smartphone is equipped with a 108-megapixel AI camera, a 5,000 mAh battery, and face and fingerprint unlocking technology. Thanks to Fusion's modular design, users can personalize the device with interchangeable Outfits that add additional features.
To minimize distractions, a School Mode is provided, which restricts the use of certain applications during school hours. The case has IP54 splash protection, which makes it resistant to everyday use.

What else did HMD present
The company also showed the button models HMD 130 and 150 Music, as well as the HMD 2660 Flip.
The HMD 130 and 150 Music are phones for music lovers, equipped with powerful 2-watt speakers, FM radio, Bluetooth 5.0, and the ability to expand memory up to 32 GB via microSD. Their battery can hold a charge in standby mode for up to a month.

The HMD 2660 Flip is a device with a 2.8-inch main screen, an additional 1.77-inch display, large buttons, and a 0.3-megapixel camera. The device also has an emergency button for calling for help, making it convenient for those who want to get rid of the distractions of smartphones.

Price and availability
HMD Fusion X1 will go on sale in May 2025 for $290.
