Fighting in Kursk region
Since early August 2024, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been conducting an operation in the Kursk region. Its goal was to weaken the enemy's combat capabilities and force it to redirect resources to the defense of its own territories.
By late summer, Ukrainian troops controlled 100 settlements in the region.
Despite this, since early March, the situation in the Kursk region has worsened. As reported by RBC-Ukraine's sources, Russian troops are trying to cut off the Sudzha-Sumy road to create an operational encirclement of Ukrainian forces.
Furthermore, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the information about the alleged encirclement of Ukrainian units in the Kursk region is not true. Such reports are spread by Russian propaganda.
