The situation in the Kursk region has indeed worsened in recent days. However, the Ukrainian command currently has no plans to withdraw troops from there, according to RBC-Ukraine own sources.

On the contrary, according to informed sources, measures are being taken to stabilize the situation, and counteractions are being planned.

Currently, the aggressor's plan, according to the publication, is to cut the Sudzha-Sumy road, thereby creating an operational encirclement of Ukrainian forces.

The width of the Ukrainian bridgehead in the Kursk region has now reduced to 11 kilometers. Defense and combat operations there are complicated by forested terrain and the widespread use of drones by the enemy on fiber optics.

However, as sources explain, the situation is not yet catastrophic, and encirclement of Ukrainian troops there has not occurred.

Situation in the Kursk region

The situation on the Kursk bridgehead began to deteriorate after Russian forces advanced to the northwest of Sudzha, near Sverdlivka, towards the Ukrainian border.

According to sources, these forces now aim to break through to Basivka and then to Yunakivka in the Sumy region.

The next threatening step was the breakthrough of joint Russian and North Korean units near Kurilivka towards the state border, south of Sudzha.

It should be noted that The Telegraph reported on the alleged encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region. British journalists wrote that after the US stopped sharing intelligence, Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region were supposedly at risk of encirclement. According to their sources, this complicated the forecasting of attacks and coordination of defense.

Meanwhile, the previous day, the Center for Countering Disinformation clarified that intense battles were ongoing in the border area of the Sumy region, where Russian assault groups are attempting to break through to the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region.
