Kyiv authorities confirmed the first deaths following the Russian strike on the morning of September 28. According to preliminary reports, one of the victims is a 12-year-old girl.

The information comes from Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, who posted updates on Telegram.

Initially, Tkachenko reported the death of a woman in the Solomyanskyi district after a residential building was hit. A few minutes later, he updated the toll to two confirmed fatalities.

"Across Kyiv, as of now, 10 people are confirmed injured, and at least 2 have died. These figures may not be final," he noted.

According to Tkachenko, the body of a female victim — preliminarily identified as a 12-year-old girl — was recovered in the Solomyanskyi district.

It is worth noting that earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported six injured, five of whom were hospitalized.

Updated at 8:55 a.m.: According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, three people are now confirmed dead as a result of the attack, including the 12-year-old girl. The State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported that two people died from a strike on the building of the Institute of Cardiology, while another victim is the 12-year-old girl in Solomyanskyi district.

Updated at 9:18 a.m.: The death toll in Kyiv has risen to four. According to Tkachenko, another body was found at one of the locations.

Massive attack on Ukraine

On Sunday, September 28, Russia carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine using missiles and drones. Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Zaporizhzhia were targeted.

In the capital, strikes and falling debris were recorded in Sviatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, and Solomyanskyi districts. Residential buildings were damaged, and a hospital in Solomyanskyi district caught fire.

In Zaporizhzhia, the number of injured rose to 21, with two in serious condition.
