Strong fires reported in several districts of Kharkiv following the Russian drone attack on April 29 evening. The number of casualties has been updated to 38 people, according to the State Emergency Service.

Emergency services informed that in Kharkiv, "residential buildings, garages, infrastructure facilities were destroyed, cars were damaged." Footage from the aftermath of the attack was also released.

Additionally, it was reported to the State Emergency Service that ten fires broke out in various parts of Kharkiv.

The service reported that Russia's night drone attack caused large-scale fires and destruction in Kharkiv.

"According to preliminary data, 38 people were injured. Rescuers, medics, police, volunteers, and utility services are working on site," the State Emergency Service reported.

Emergency services added that work to extinguish fires continues, as well as "debris removal and assistance to the victims despite the danger of repeated strikes from the Russians."

Drone attack on Kharkiv on April 29

Last evening, a series of explosions were heard in Kharkiv amid a drone attack. Sites were recorded in the city, and there was information about victims, the number of which was increasing.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that as a result of the shelling, high-rise buildings, private houses, cars, businesses, and two hospitals in the city were damaged.

Civilian objects in four districts were under attack: Slobidskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi, Saltivskyi, and Nemishlianskyi.

According to Spartak Borysenko, head of the department for combating crimes committed in the context of armed conflict, Russia used the Geran-2 UAV for the attack. He also informed that medical assistance was provided to 30 civilians.

Meanwhile, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synehubov, reported that among the victims in the city were a 5-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, and a 24-year-old pregnant woman.

He also informed that the total number of injured due to the drone attack had increased to 38 people, and 4 individuals had been hospitalized.
