Explosions were heard in Kharkiv on the evening of April 19. Russian forces are attacking the city with Shahed strike drones, according to the Telegram channel of Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov.

"Explosions were heard in the city. Be cautious – Kharkiv is under attack by enemy UAVs," Terekhov reported.

According to him, the Shevchenkivskyi and Slobidskyi districts of Kharkiv are under strike.

In the Saltivskyi district, preliminary information indicates that one of the Shahed drones crashed near a medical facility.

Earlier, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned that a group of enemy Shaheds was approaching Kharkiv from the east.

According to the mayor, the attack on the city is ongoing. There are still many enemy drones in the air.

"Preliminary reports indicate there are casualties in the Saltivskyi district — this is being verified," Terekhov added.

He later clarified that the Kyivskyi district was also hit. In the Saltivskyi district, there are reports of three people wounded.

Update: Over ten injured

At 10:59 PM Kyiv time, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that 11 people were known to be injured in Kharkiv.

"Medics are providing the necessary assistance to the victims. A 5-year-old girl also experienced an acute stress reaction," the official said.

Earlier, the mayor of Kharkiv had reported 10 injured as a result of the enemy drone strike on the city.

However, by 11:05 PM, the mayor updated the figure to 15 people injured in the drone attack by Russian forces.

Update: Strike on a residential building

According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, a Russian drone struck a multi-story residential building.

Attack on Ukraine on April 29

During the night of April 29, Russian forces launched around one hundred strike drones against Ukraine from six directions.

Air defense forces managed to shoot down 37 Shahed-type drones, as well as other types of UAVs over the east, north, south, and center of the country. Additionally, 37 drones were lost from radar without causing any harm.

As a result of the enemy’s attack, the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv regions were affected.
