Russia launches overnight drone attack on Ukraine from six directions: Air defense works

On the night of April 29, Russian terrorists launched a hundred strike UAVs against Ukraine from six directions, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
Russian forces launched the drones from the areas of:
- the cities of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
- the temporarily occupied Chauda.
The following were involved in repelling the attack:
- aviation;
- anti-aircraft missile units;
- electronic warfare systems;
- mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:30, the downing of 37 Shahed-type drones and UAVs of other types has been confirmed in the east, north, south, and center of the country. Another 37 UAVs were lost locally without any negative consequences.
Due to the enemy’s attack, the following regions were affected:
- Kharkiv;
- Donetsk;
- Dnipropetrovsk;
- Kyiv regions.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has systematically shelled Ukraine, including civilian infrastructure. Residential buildings, schools, hospitals, energy facilities, and more have come under fire. Nighttime attacks are particularly intense, during which the enemy often launches dozens of Shahed-type strike drones.
Russian forces use a wide arsenal of weaponry, including various types of missiles, guided aerial bombs, artillery, and drones.
On the night of April 28, the enemy launched 166 drones against Ukraine. Air defense units managed to destroy 30 UAVs. Another 74 were lost locally.
