In Mukachevo, firefighters have been battling a large-scale fire for the second consecutive day, following a Russian strike on August 21. As a result of the attack, 21 people were injured, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The rescuers reported that as of 07:40, firefighting operations in Mukachevo were still ongoing after the Russian strike on August 21.

"A total of 54 rescuers and 15 units of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire and dealing with its aftermath. Two firefighting trains from Ukrzaliznytsia are also operating," the service added.

The State Emergency Service reported that 21 people were injured in the incident.

Attack on Mukachevo

Yesterday, during the night, Russian forces struck Mukachevo in the Zakarpattia region.

Among the affected facilities was the Flextronics plant of the American company Flex International, one of the world’s leaders in contract electronics manufacturing.

The Center for Countering Disinformation noted that these attacks have no military purpose, calling them merely an attempt to intimidate people and prolong the war.

Meanwhile, by the evening of August 21, the number of people injured in the Russian strike on the Flex plant in Mukachevo had risen to 23.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán commented on the Russian missile attack on Mukachevo on August 21. However, Orban didn't note the fact that it was specifically a Russian attack.
