Fire Point develops its own turbojet engine for Ukraine’s Flamingo missile

The Ukrainian company Fire Point has developed its own turbojet engine, which could be used for the Flamingo cruise missile, according to an interview with Fire Point CEO Iryna Terekh with TWZ.
How long did it take to develop the own engine
Creating its own turbojet engine for unmanned aerial vehicles took the company more than half a year.
"And now we are assembling our first 10 prototypes of the future turbojet fan engines of our production," Terekh said, adding that making a turbojet engine is more difficult than making the rocket itself.
According to her, Fire Point plans to complete testing of all samples by the end of this year and make the necessary improvements, and then move to serial production next year.
Why it was not possible to increase missile production
Terekh also admitted that the plans to increase production of Flamingo missiles to at least seven units per day have not yet been realized.
"Unfortunately, since Ukraine was waiting for the funds coming from the European Union loan, the orders did not match the maximum capacity of the production, so the production was lowered to a lower percentage of what it could possibly provide. We expect to ramp it up to the named number. Probably by the end of this year or beginning next year. It depends on how the contracts will arrive," she explained.
Fire Point has repeatedly spoken about its developments. In July, the company presented the FP-7.x anti-ballistic missiles for the Freyja air defense system, and earlier it tested this missile for the first time — then it was reported about a successful guided flight, speeds of up to 2,000 meters per second, and plans to cooperate with the German company Diehl Defence on the guidance system.
