Today, on August 19th, a fire occurred in a warehouse facility at the State Scientific and Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine near Kyiv. Detonation of explosive items took place during an examination, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko on his Telegram channel.

"According to preliminary information, experts from the State Scientific and Research Forensic Center were conducting an examination of explosive items. Unfortunately, a detonation occurred. Investigators and criminalists from the National Police are working at the scene," Klymenko writes.

Fire near Kyiv

A fire occurred in a warehouse facility of the State Scientific and Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the village of Petropavlivska Borshchahivka. Some time later, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine added that the fire was not related to the air alarm that was announced at that time.

According to Ihor Klymenko, there were injured employees of the forensic service as a result of the fire.

The fire has been localized.
