Finland to join NATO initiative to buy US weapons for Ukraine

Finland has announced its intention to join NATO's initiative to purchase American weapons for Ukraine. A new package of military aid is expected in the near future, according to Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen.
Before the meeting of NATO defense ministers, Antti Häkkänen says that Finland would join the PURL.
He also says that information about a new aid package for Ukraine from Finland will be released this week.
At the same time, he says, Ukraine needs to receive American weapons.
PURL
PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) is a joint US-NATO program aimed at accelerating the supply of weapons to Ukraine. As part of this initiative, Kyiv compiles a list of its most important weapons needs and sends it to its allies.
The partners, in turn, finance the purchase of American weapons that meet the stated requirements.
The money is transferred to a special NATO account, after which the United States makes direct deliveries of weapons.
On October 14, US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said that new announcements on arms supplies to Ukraine through NATO's PURL program are expected this week.
