Finland has signed an agreement with the European Commission to supply Ukraine with €90 million worth of ammunition. Funding will come from frozen Russian assets through the European Peace Fund, the Finnish Ministry of Defense reports.

The ammunition will be purchased from Finnish manufacturers, which will also help support local industry and save jobs.

Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen noted that this step demonstrates Finland's unwavering support for Ukraine and strengthens cooperation between the Finnish defense industry and Kyiv.

Together with the €660 million national support program for Ukraine, this will help strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.

Details on the method and schedule of delivery have not yet been disclosed.

Finland's assistance to Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Finland has been actively assisting Ukraine in the military, financial, and humanitarian spheres. Military support includes weapons, ammunition, equipment, and training for Ukrainian soldiers.

Recently, Finland announced that it will provide €36.5 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Finland also announced the 28th package of military assistance to Ukraine. It is worth about 200 million euros ($217 million).
