Finland has announced the 28th package of military aid to Ukraine. The package is worth about 200 million euros ($217 million), according to Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen.

According to Häkkänen, during a meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, the content of the package was not disclosed, but it will definitely include artillery ammunition, which is in great demand today.

The minister added that there is broad political support and national unanimity in Finland on the issue of helping Ukraine.

“It is also valuable that we have managed to combine support for Ukraine with strengthening domestic supply security through the industrial support program,” he said.

During the meeting, the ministers also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on defense cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries.

Finland's assistance to Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Finland has been actively assisting Ukraine in the military, financial, and humanitarian spheres. Military support includes weapons, ammunition, equipment, and training for Ukrainian soldiers.

Recently, Finland announced that it would provide €36.5 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Also today, on March 13, the head of the Finnish Ministry of the Interior, Mari Rantanen, arrived in Kyiv on a visit.
