Finland rushes €1 million in military aid to Ukraine after urgent request

Finland is urgently providing Ukraine with its 35th military aid package. It includes a defense item from the Finnish Armed Forces' stocks, according to Finland's Ministry of Defense.
New aid for Ukraine
On October 9, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, at the government's proposal, approved the delivery of Finland's 35th military aid package to Ukraine.
The total value of the package currently being delivered to Ukraine is approximately €1 million, according to the statement.
It contains one defense item from the Finnish Armed Forces' stocks.
For operational reasons and to ensure delivery to its destination, further details about the contents of the aid are classified.
Finland's Ministry of Defense said that both Ukraine's needs and the resources of the Finnish Armed Forces were taken into account when making the decision.
Finland's 36th defense aid package
Finland has already begun preparations for the next, more extensive package.
The total value of defense materiel Finland has delivered to Ukraine has already reached €3.6 billion.
"Finland speeded up this decision to deliver on an urgent request from Ukraine. We will not close our eyes to Ukrainians' hour of need. Instead, we will stand with Ukraine and continue our materiel assistance deliveries," said Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen.
Finland will also provide a €50 million loan to support Ukraine's reconstruction and economic stability.
In addition, Finland conducted exercises during which security forces practiced seizing and searching a vessel in the Baltic Sea.
