Chorni yastruby (Black Hawks) special forces unit conducted an operation in the Pokrovsk direction in November 2025. Their coordinated work with air support and FPV reconnaissance stopped the enemy and strengthened the city’s defenses, according to the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"We were able to buy precious time so that the main units of the Armed Forces could reach the city to reinforce it. After that, no one was saying the city had been taken," said Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, emphasizing the strategic significance of the operation.
A crucial role in the combat mission was played by aerial reconnaissance units and FPV specialists, who effectively detected and eliminated Russian invaders.
Earlier, the situation in the Pokrovsk direction had escalated, and control over key positions was critically important for the city’s defense.
Previous combat episodes, when the enemy attempted to break through the defenses, highlighted the necessity of such high-risk operations, which allow for gaining strategic time and maintaining the initiative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that Russian forces increased pressure on Myrnohrad after failing to capture Pokrovsk. In contrast, Ukrainian forces successfully strengthened their defensive positions.
On December 20, DeepState analysts reported that Myrnohrad had fallen into a "grey zone," meaning information about control over the city required verification.
At the same time, the Skhid Operational Command assured that Ukrainian troops were holding defensive lines and eliminating the enemy on the approaches to the city.
Earlier, the command reported the emergence of new logistics in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, but the situation remained difficult.
The Pokrovsk direction has remained one of the hottest spots along the entire front line over the past few months. The enemy continues attempts to capture Pokrovsk but has become bogged down in urban combat and is now changing its tactics.
