F-18 fighter jet crashes in Spain: Pilot fails to eject
In the northeast of Spain, near the city of Teruel, an F-18 aircraft crashed. The pilot died as a result of the accident, ABC reports.
The fighter jet crash occurred on Friday, October 4, in eastern Spain. The pilot was identified as Pablo Estrada Martín, who had over 1,500 flight hours but did not manage to eject from the F/A-18 and died as a result of the crash.
The causes of the accident have not yet been determined.
The Spanish Air Force expressed condolences to his family. It is known that the pilot recently led a mission in Lithuania, which was involved in patrolling the airspace of the Baltic countries.
Loss of F-16 in Ukraine

Later, it was officially confirmed that pilot Oleksii Mes died, and the General Staff subsequently confirmed the loss of the F-16.
