Russian propaganda is spreading a fake story about Denmark recalling F-16 fighter jets from Ukraine, although there are no official statements or confirmations, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation.

Russian propagandists are spreading a video allegedly from the Danish TV channel TV2 Nord, where TV host Pia Beltoft supposedly announces that Denmark plans to withdraw the F-16 fighter jets sent to Ukraine and redeploy them to Greenland following statements by US President Donald Trump.

The Center for Countering Disinformation says the propagandists edited the video, replacing the audio with a fabricated track. In reality, there have been no official statements about recalling the jets, neither on TV2 Nord’s website nor on its social media. Denmark’s Ministry of Defense has also denied this false claim.

The fake video is spreading in multiple languages, indicating a premeditated and coordinated information campaign by the enemy. Its goal is to create the impression that Western partners might abandon support for Ukraine, undermine trust in allies, and sow doubt about the reliability of military assistance.

Experts stress that Ukraine and its partners should ignore such provocations and rely only on official sources of information.

Denmark’s F-16 delivery to Ukraine

Denmark, together with the Netherlands, Norway, and other allies, has created the so-called F-16 aviation coalition for Ukraine, which includes not only aircraft deliveries but also training for Ukrainian pilots and technicians.

As early as August 2025, Denmark began training eight Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters.

Some of Denmark’s F-16s are already operational in Ukraine, with subsequent batches expected to arrive gradually.

Ukrainian military officials and partners emphasize that these jets significantly strengthen Ukraine’s ability to defend its airspace and carry out more complex missions in the sky.
